I decided to save Sora for Fanime and make a different costume for Anime LA. I wasn't going to say what it was, but a) I think I need some help with a few things, and b) knowing what some other friends are wearing, I probably shouldn't keep it hush-hush anyway.

I received Namie Amuro's new album, PAST < FUTURE yesterday, and it is AMAZING. There's not a bad song on the entire thing. I love how it starts with the fun, danceable songs like FAST CAR and COPY THAT, and slowly moves into ballads and more gentle songs like The Meaning of Us and Defend Love. Speaking of ballads, I'm not usually a huge fan of Namie's slower songs (Exist for You is the only one I can listen to over and over) but The Meaning of Us is a gorgeous song. So far I think my favorite song is Defend Love, although I also really like the in-your-face LOVE GAME and the very strange FIRST TIMER.

Her CD came with a bonus DVD with the six music videos made for this album. I usually adore her videos, so for once I actually went through the trouble of buying the physical album instead of using iTunes. I'd already seen them all except for LOVE GAME, but it's nice having them in HQ. Two of the videos are animated, which is a new thing for Namie who's known for her dancing. One (Defend Love) is a continuation of the other (Dr.) and it's pretty amusing to say the least. Why?



GUNDAM PILOT NAMIE.

Seriously, there's footage from old, old Gundam battles spliced in with this brand-new animated video. When I first heard about it I thought it would look horrible, but putting the two together is handled well and it's not as jarring as I feared. I want to cosplay Gundam Pilot Namie now, though :3.

If you like Japanese pop music, do yourself a favor and pick this album up. It's an excellent listen.

News of Asako's retirement earlier this year hurt, but it was expected. But that little thing you did when you decided Ai-chan would retire with her? Salt in the wound, man. Not cool.

Then you announced Ayane-chan's impending retirement. Oh sure, so NICE of you to take her away so soon after my other favorite musumeyaku.

But today. . .today was the last straw. Yumiko's leaving? Really? My favorite top star, my favorite nibante since Kiriyan will soon be top, and my two favorite musumeyaku are all gone within six months of each other?

Takarazuka, this is bullshit. You're on thin ice here. You'd better take at LEAST half a year to announce any more retirements of people I love.

Well what fun! I have been spending some time trying to rebuild my address book that was lost the first time I lost my .Mac, this time being a LOT smarter about where I store it.

If we know each other feel free to leave me current contact, mailing, email, date, ect info. However, as a loose rule, I don't fill up my address book with pseudonyms, I have an area where I write them down but if I don't know you well enough to know your real name then I probably don't need stuff like your address, number, ect

So I have been getting some new outfits, lopped off my long hair, and have been keeping the shaving neat.
Today I bought an expensive nice watch, got home, and after removing two links it actually fits like a glove.
